Why Pose & Play™ Is Different From Every Other Camp
Small groups. Every retreat is intentionally limited in size. Not for optics — because smaller groups mean every child is seen, supported, and celebrated.
Everything is included. No lists of things to bring. No last-minute craft supply runs. Every material, every take-home item, every yoga mat — all included in registration.
The take-home matters. Every retreat is designed around a specific, meaningful take-home experience: a Certificate of Adoption, a Squishville mystery capsule, a superhero cape, a personalized toy box. These aren't goody bags. They're proof that something real happened.
Real skills. Every theme is a vehicle for evidence-based mindfulness tools — breathwork, emotional regulation, body awareness, guided relaxation. The themes change. The growth is permanent.
Led by a specialist. These aren't staffed by teenagers. Every Pose & Play™ retreat is created and led by Tara Willits, a teacher-trained yoga and mindfulness educator and school-based wellness educator with a Child Psychology degree and 5,000+ classes taught.
Is Pose & Play™ Right for Your Child?
These retreats are a perfect fit for kids who:
✔ Love imaginative, themed play and creative activities
✔ Benefit from calming tools and emotional support
✔ Thrive in small, warm, encouraging group settings
✔ Enjoy yoga, movement, and hands-on crafts
✔ Need a meaningful, screen-free way to spend a non-school day or summer day
✔ Are new to yoga — no experience needed at all
Boys and girls both love Pose & Play™ retreats. Every activity is designed to meet every kind of kid exactly where they are.
What Parents Are Saying
"My daughter loves all of your camps — she said there's one next week she wants to do. I asked, what's this one? 'I don't know, I don't care, I just love all of Tara's classes.' So thank you for continuing to offer them!!" — Mounds View Mom
"My daughter has been talking about Puppy Yoga for two weeks straight. She named her puppy, slept with it that night, and asked when she can go back. Absolutely worth every penny." — New Brighton Mom
"My son is not a 'yoga kid' — or so I thought. He came home calm, happy, and so proud of everything he made. This is unlike any camp we've ever done." — Mounds View Dad
"My daughter came home with a box that had her name on it, a drawing she made, and a little Forky she built herself. She was so proud. But what really got me was when she used her breathing tool at bedtime — totally unprompted. That's when I knew this was worth every penny." — New Brighton Mom
Every Retreat Is Led by the Same Person Who Designed It
Pose & Play™ retreats are created and led by Tara Willits, founder of The Mindfulness Movement™ — a teacher-trained yoga and mindfulness educator and school-based wellness educator with a Child Psychology degree and 5,000+ classes taught across Minnesota schools and community programs.
Tara doesn't just run camps. She designs every activity, selects every take-home item, and leads every session herself. When you book a Pose & Play™ retreat, your child is in the hands of an expert who has spent years learning how kids move, feel, and grow.
