Tara Willits

Founder

Tara Willits is a passionate yoga and mindfulness educator dedicated to making whole-body wellness and mindful education accessible to all. She teaches Yoga & Mindfulness Education full-time in schools, coaches student-athletes in mindfulness, and leads inclusive classes for kids, adults, and families through community wellness events.

With a degree in Child Psychology, a Minnesota teaching license in Physical Education, certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, and experience in the Child Life Department at Children’s Minnesota, Tara brings a trauma-informed and compassionate approach to her work. She has taught over 5,000 classes and draws from a diverse background in yoga, dance, Pilates, martial arts, and movement education.

As the founder of The Mindfulness Movement, Tara also mentors educators and develops curriculum used by teachers and instructors worldwide—empowering children and families with tools for emotional regulation, connection, and well-being.

Mackenzie Felton

Makenzie Felton is a graduate student studying Social Work with a passion for mental health, movement, and connection. She brings high energy and positivity as a Minnesota Timberwolves hype squad member, balanced with a calming love for yoga and mindful movement. With a background in figure skating and a creative spirit as a crochet enthusiast and entrepreneur, Makenzie loves helping kids build confidence, regulate their emotions, and feel empowered in their bodies. She’s excited to be part of The Mindfulness Movement team.
