Tara Willits
FounderTara Willits is a trauma-informed kids yoga and mindfulness educator, curriculum developer, and founder of The Mindfulness Movement — a Minnesota-based wellness education organization serving schools, families, and communities.
With a degree in Child Psychology, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification, and hands-on experience in the Child Life Department at Children's Minnesota, Tara brings a depth of expertise rarely found in the wellness space. Having taught over 5,000 classes across schools, community programs, and camps, she is a trusted voice in mindful education for children.
Her curriculum and resources are used by educators and yoga instructors worldwide, helping kids build emotional regulation, resilience, and self-awareness through movement and mindfulness.

Makenzie Felton is a graduate student studying Social Work with a passion for mental health, movement, and connection. She brings high energy and positivity as a Minnesota Timberwolves hype squad member, balanced with a calming love for yoga and mindful movement. With a background in figure skating and a creative spirit as a crochet enthusiast and entrepreneur, Makenzie loves helping kids build confidence, regulate their emotions, and feel empowered in their bodies. She’s excited to be part of The Mindfulness Movement team.
