What Happens at Puppy Yoga?
Move 🐾
Kids warm up with puppy-themed yoga poses, downward dog has never been this fun! They'll play balance games, partner poses, and movement challenges, all with their new puppy companion.
Create 🎨
At the Adopt a Puppy station, kids name their stuffed puppy, complete a Certificate of Adoption, design a custom collar, color their Pet Supplies sheet, and build a puppy carrier or doghouse to take home. Every single item goes home with them.
Relax 🧘
Every retreat ends with guided relaxation — kids settle into shavasana with their puppy resting on their belly, breathing deeply and soaking in the calm. Parents are always amazed at how settled their children feel at pick-up.
Every child signs their own Certificate of Adoption — a keepsake they'll treasure.

Led by an Educator Who Gets Kids
Pose & Play™ Puppy Yoga retreats are created and led by Tara Willits, founder of The Mindfulness Movement™ — a teacher-trained yoga and mindfulness educator and school-based wellness educator with over 5,000 classes taught across Minnesota schools and community programs.
Tara's retreats are intentionally small, carefully structured, and rooted in trauma-informed, evidence-based mindfulness practices. She's not just running a fun camp — she's giving kids real tools for managing big emotions, building confidence, and connecting with their bodies and minds.
When kids leave a Pose & Play™ retreat, they leave calmer, more confident, and prouder of themselves.

Nope! Puppy Yoga is designed for all levels, including kids who have never tried yoga. The focus is on fun, not perfection.

Pose & Play™ Puppy Yoga is designed for children ages 5–12. If your child is slightly outside this range, feel free to reach out and we'll help you find the best fit.
